Otavalo, Cotacachi & Cuicocha Lake Tour
Private tour to visit Otavalo Indigenous Market, Cotacachi village, famous for its fine leatherwork and Cuicoca Crater Lake or Peguche Waterfall.
We will drive east of Quito, through the valleys of Cumbaya ,Tumbaco, Puembo & Pifo, with awesome views of the amazing “Sierra” Ecuadorian landscapes , towards the Cayambe Volcano. We will also stop at Quitsato, Middle of The World Site O’O”O””. Here you can stand one foot at each north and south hemisphere.
We have the options of visiting a “Biscocho”maker, a traditional savory buttered cookie.
Latter on will drive by the San Pablo Lake until we reach Otavalo the most colourful market of Ecuador and one of the largest Indigenous markets in South America.
The Otavalo Market is famous for their traditional tapestries, woollens and other handicrafts; the Otavalo indigenous community have been the most skilled weavers since the pre-colonial time.
From here we head down to the village of Cotacachi, famous for its fine leatherwork and then you have the option of visiting “Cuicocha Crater Lake” , this stunning Crater Lake is one of the most beautiful and frequently visited in Ecuador, or instead you can choose to go to Peguche Waterfalls .
Cuicocha lake shine bright at the foot of the Volcan Cotacachi. There is a trail that makes for a spectacular hike.
