Ecuador’s Amazon · Lake Garzacocha
La Selva is one of the pioneering lodges of the Ecuadorian Amazon, today a premium retreat with a spa, yoga on the jetty and 19 staterooms over Lake Garzacocha, 70 km into the rainforest from Coca. Climb its 38-m (125-ft) tower, paddle a kayak on the lake and visit the Kichwa community.

Why La Selva
La Selva sits on the glassy waters of Lake Garzacocha, in the Yasuní Biosphere Reserve. There are no roads: you arrive by canoe, and from the main lodge and restaurant you can watch birds and monkeys with a cocktail in hand.
It is the most wellness-focused lodge we recommend: a spa with treatments inspired by the forest, yoga sessions on the jetty, a natural pool by the lake, the Samai Wasi relaxation lounge and the Inti Ñawi observatory deck. Chefs prepare a refined menu with Amazonian ingredients.
Excursions are led by English-speaking naturalist guides and local Kichwa guides: canoe rides, trails, parrot clay licks, the tower, night excursions and a family program for children.
