We recommend booking them with us, together with your cruise. Many yachts ask their guests to fly on the flights they reserve, because the crew meets the group at the Galápagos airport and the timing has to match the itinerary. You get assistance at the airport in Quito or Guayaquil on the day you fly, and we book your Galápagos flights at the net fare the cruise operator gives us. We also recommend arriving in Ecuador two days before your Galápagos flight, in case your international flight is delayed or canceled.

Northeast Baltra is the dive site off the northeast point of Baltra, the island of the main Galápagos airport. On a dive cruise it is the first dive of the trip, on the afternoon you arrive: the check-out dive, where the guides check everyone's weights, buoyancy and equipment before the bigger dives in the north.

Cape Marshall, Cabo Marshall in Spanish, is on the northeast coast of Isabela, just south of the equator, where a lava flow from Wolf Volcano drops into the sea as a steep wall and slopes of boulders. Many divers consider it the best place in the Galápagos to see manta rays, and it is also known as Manta City or the City of the Mantas.

Darwin is the northernmost island of the Galápagos, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) northwest of Wolf: a small block of cliffs, around one square kilometer, that is the top of an extinct volcano. It was named in honor of Charles Darwin, although he never came this far north.

Wolf is one of the two remote islands in the far northwest of the Galápagos, about 160 kilometers (100 miles) northwest of Isabela, with Darwin farther north. It is small, about 1.3 square kilometers, and steep, rising some 250 meters from the sea: the eroded top of an extinct volcano, named after the German geologist Theodor Wolf.

Vicente Roca Point, on the northwest coast of Isabela at the foot of Ecuador Volcano, is one of the most spectacular marine sites in the Galápagos. There is no landing: the visit combines a panga ride along towering cliffs of tuff, ash and lava, carved by the sea into caves and arches, with snorkeling in a sheltered cove.

Cape Douglas, Cabo Douglas in Spanish, is on the northwest coast of Fernandina, the youngest and most volcanically active island of the Galápagos, and it is the island's only dive site. The cold, nutrient-rich water of the Cromwell Current wells up along this coast and feeds one of the most unusual communities in the islands.

Cousins Rock is a small, triangular islet off the east coast of Santiago, a little north of Bartolomé: all that remains of an eroded volcanic cone, rising from the sea in stepped ledges. Sea lions, blue-footed boobies and pelicans rest on its rocks, and below the water it is one of the best-known dive sites of the central islands.

The highlands of Santa Cruz are the green heart of the Galápagos and the best place to see giant tortoises living in the wild. Most cruises visit them on the first or last day, on the road between Baltra and Puerto Ayora, or as a half-day excursion from the town.
