What a August cruise is like

August is one of the coolest months. Days are about 18–23 °C (64–74 °F), with garúa mist in the mornings and sunny spells, and the water drops to around 19 °C (66 °F), so a wetsuit is essential for snorkeling. Currents and swell are at their strongest, which makes the crossings livelier: if you are prone to seasickness, a larger yacht or a catamaran is more comfortable.

On Genovesa, Nazca boobies and swallow-tailed gulls are nesting.
Galápagos hawks begin their mating season.
